Student-Led Teaching Awards Trophy Competition

The Student-Led Teaching Awards celebrate excellence in teaching and staff members who go above and beyond for students. Students can nominate any University staff member in four distinct categories, celebrating inspiring teaching, use of research, diverse curriculum content, and non-academic staff going above and beyond for students.

All award nominations will be considered by a panel of students and the overall winners will be announced at the end of this summer's Graduation Ceremonies.

We're calling on Goldsmiths students to submit a design for the trophy that will be given to the staff members picked by students, from all of the student nominations. The chosen design will then need to be produced and the trophies delivered in the set timeframe.

The winner will receive a £400 prize, as well as up to £200 to be spent on the production costs of your design.

Seeking inspiration? This website contains many examples used by other institutions.

What we're looking for:

  • A short pitch about your own background and the introduction to your design (maximum 200 words).
  • A drawing of what your trophy will look like, which can be submitted as an image or PDF.
  • The full breakdown of costs for materials to make four trophies. Please note that the materials should incur as little cost as possible, as we are on a limited budget.
  • You to deliver the trophies to us by 15 May 2017.

The closing date for entries is Monday 24th April. Please send your entry to Howard by emailing, and feel free to email through any questions you have.
