Student Staff Roles

 

Peer Facilitator

We're looking for students to work as Peer Facilitators as part of the Against Sexual Violence campaign. As a peer facilitator, you'll lead training sessions on how to be an active bystander. You must be a student at Goldsmiths during the 2018/19 academic year in order to do this role. This role is contracted for at least four hours per week during term time. Applicants must be available for three paid training days on 15th, 22nd and 29th September.

Venue Technician

We've got an exciting opportunity for students to work in our venue, a flexible but professional live sound environment. Your role will be to support the running and technical requirements of our events, and might be of interest to anyone who is thinking of pursuing a live sound or events management career. Full training will be provided.

Bar Staff

Students in this role will work in the SU Bar and Venue, and will be responsible for delivering brilliant customer service, handling cash, ensuring health and safety of customers, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.

Commercial Events Coordinator

This role will help us to ensure the smooth and cost-effective operation of our events programme, with a focus on income generation and venue development. Working alongside the Head Technician, you will ensure that students attending events at our venue are met with a professional and innovative service. This role is part time, contracted for 25 hours per week.

Bar Supervisor

The post holder will help us to ensure the smooth and cost-effective operation of the SU Bar for the benefit of our students. Your role involve supervising casual bar staff in their duties and maintaining a safe and open environment for our members. This is a full time role.

Against Sexual Violence Project Coordinator

The post holder will coordinate our Against Sexual Violence project. Your role will involve the recruitment, selection and support of trainers, working with academic departments and within the SU to ensure students are able to access the training programme. This role is part time, contracted on a 0.5FTE basis.

Liberation Coordinator

The post holder will work with liberation and under-involved groups to ensure networks are developed, liberation is celebrated within the Goldsmiths community, and a skills programme is developed for leaders in those groups. You'll also deliver activity to ensure we have an environment supportive of wellbeing and mental health.

Academic Events Coordinator

The postholder will work with students and staff to build communities around students on their courses, through events and opportunities. This role requires a keen interest in events management and student engagement, and will provide opportunities to develop these skills in a diverse academic setting. This role is full time for ten months.

Democracy and Campaigns Coordinator

You will run the processes and systems to help us have a healthy and engaging democracy. You'll support the induction plan for Part Time Officers, ensuring they have the opportunity to achieve their manifesto aims. Because of you we'll have an increasing number of students involved in our democracy and our elected Officers achieving more wins for students.
