‘Liberate Hong Kong, the revolution of our times’ is a touring exhibition that presents promotional materials and artworks showing the development of the social movement in Hong Kong and the general patterns of political activism during the protests at different universities in London.

The exhibition will be held in the Students' Union Building as the building has a symbolic meaning for social movement. It was named as ‘Tiananmen Building’ as the memorial of the Tiananmen Square Massacre, in which numerous students were killed by the Chinese army for demonstrating for democracy on 4 June 1989. It signifies the spirit of Goldsmiths on upholding human rights, justice and freedom.

It will begin with Hong Kong art duo Ghost and John's durational performance, 'Thousand Papers ??', which invites audiences to create an installation of Senbazuru that holds happiness, sadness, hopes, dreams and memories, responding to their homeland’s unique stories.

In conjunction with the exhibition there will be a sharing session by Janet Lui, a Hong Kong activist and an alumni of MA Political Communications at Goldsmiths. She will share her observations on the use of art for liberation and self-empowered leadership in the social movement in Hong Kong.
