For LGBTQ+ History Month in 2023, one of the events hosted by GSU was a talk by Katlego K Kolanyane-Kesopite.
Katlego is a former Goldsmiths student who graduated with an MA in Human Rights, Culture and Social Justice. She is now a Trans* ARTivist, communications specialist, and cultural architect. She is an international award-winner with imprints in human rights, education and performing arts.
Her talk is titled "When We Belong: Queering Rights: Access and Visibility in Academia,'' looks at contemporality and queerness, particularly when one moves from being a subject of study to a human with rights and deserving of dignity, within academic space.
