Welcome Back Week (w/c 18th January) is the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself back into Goldsmiths life and get involved in something new. Of course, as we find ourselves in lockdown once again, this year will no doubt feel a little bit different. However, we're determined to still show you what Goldsmiths is all about - and we decided the best way to do that was through those who know it best... our student groups! They've been working hard to organise a whole bunch of events, which you can check out via this link.
So maybe you'd like to make some new friends, or you're keen to find a new lockdown hobby? Or perhaps you just need to pass some time because you’re bored from being stuck at home all day (yup, we get that!), so why not pop along (virtually) to one of the student-led events on offer?
We’ve got everything from a pesto making workshop with the Gardening Society, to a quiz night with the A Capella Society, to a 48 Hour Global Game Jam with Hacksmiths to an introductory session with the Creative Writing Society. There should hopefully be something for everyone… and if you can’t see anything for yourself just yet, keep checking back to our website because we’ll be constantly updating new events.
We’re also restarting our student Icebreakers which are fun meet and greets that hopefully stop that awkward zoom silence. Not only that, many of our society, club and communities have booked slots to take over our insta stories so you’ll be able to get a feel for who they are and what they’re all about just by scrolling through your phone. Make sure you’re following us (@goldsmithssu) in advance.
We know this term isn’t what you thought it would be - but by staying connected we hope we can help you feel a bit better. And we welcome feedback - good and bad - so keep us in the loop with how you’re doing, your thoughts, feelings and questions via this link.
We hope to see you online very soon!
