The SU’s new social sport programme Active at Goldsmiths was set up with the aim of getting people on campus to get more active and take part in fun activities. If you’ve fallen out of love with sport or stopped being active for any number of reasons, this might just be the programme for you...
The programme offers a range of recreational sports and different activities, from bootcamp sessions to pick-up basketball, from softball to recreational football. Lots of the sessions are run by our newly appointed sports activators, who are here to help you lead a healthier lifestyle in a relaxed, fun way.
Want to know more about who you will be training with? This week we catch up with second year English and Drama student Delphine Bueche:
Q&A with Delphine Bueche
I sometimes forget I’m a student as my extra-curricular activities and projects take over a bit too much... I’m part of the Goldsmiths Taekwondo club, so come check it out if you’ve got time, it’s great fun!
I wanted to become a sports activator because I strongly believe sport and any kind of exercise is good for the mind, it’s energising and invigorating, especially when you can do it together. We definitely need it as students after spending hours on the VLE ;)
In my time as a sport activator, I hope I will be able to create a fun, inclusive, and engaging environment, and bring people together through exercise. I’d also like to stay fit myself! It will be a challenge for me, as I’m more used to public speaking than leading sports activities, but I feel really positive and excited about this!
