Major student research launched on teaching, retention & community

Today we launch three pieces of student written research on teaching and learning, retention (students dropping out) and student communities. Department and Accessibility & Inclusion Reps have been working tirelessly on these since November and will be presenting them to college staff and the senior management team in the next month, with the aim of helping the entire community fully understand these topics and ultimately improve college provision in these areas.

You can read the reports for yourself here:

  • Retention – why students drop out and what we can do about it

The students involved spoke to students and staff directly and collected views in a survey of current students which achieved our highest ever response rate of 1,666.

The next stage will be the college responding to the reports and eventually coming up with solutions based on the findings. Keep an eye out for updates in the next few months on this. For questions contact
