It was close all the way to the end...
Although Arts took home the trophy this time - It was close all the way to the end!
On March 11th it was time for the annual Varisty 2023 between Goldsmiths and Arts! This years event was held at University of Greenwich Avery Hill Campus which saw 9 competitive games and 3 friendly games. We were also treated to showcases from both Cheer teams!
The 3 friendly games included Mixed Hockey, Taekwondo and Pole Dance with Goldsmiths taking victory in Pole Dance!
The competitive games results were:
- Women's Football: UAL won.
- Mixed Badminton: Goldsmiths took the win!!
- Men's Football 2: Goldsmiths took the win in penalties!!
- Women's Netball: UAL won.
- Cheerleading Stunt: Goldsmiths took the win after an amazing display!!
- Men's Football 1: Goldsmiths took the win!!
- Mixed Volleyball: UAL won.
At this point of the day, It looked like the trophy may FINALLY come home to Goldsmiths and we led with an overall score of 4-3 with only our two Basketball teams yet to play.
- Women's Basketball put up a good fight but the win went to UAL.
All hope went to the final game - Men's Basketball...
- In the end, the UAL Men's Basketball team went on to win 93-54 and took the victory.
Well done to all students who competed – and shout out to all the staff members and students who came to support our teams on the day.
