About me
Hey, I'm Gammorah your 2023-24 Education Officer at Goldsmiths Students' Union.
What I'm working on
I ran and campaigned on collaboratively working toward greater Student Power, this means increasing your voice in what your taught and how your taught.
We must be able to imagine processes beyond end of module one to ten feedback forms, that don’t create change or allow space for students to impact their courses and improve their learning; the structures that see us as empty receptors for knowledge and grading rather than part of our own education must be challenged.
This also means creating alternative learning and campaigning spaces between students and staff, informing but separate to formal teaching.
Student power also means for me prioritising the support of students going through and frequently being failed by existing reasonable adjustment and extenuating circumstances systems, so that when students are in crisis they are met with actual support and solidarity not only faceless bureaucratic processes. In order to achieve this, I understand that and as part of an incredible SU team, we must work with but also sometimes against the University to ensure that not only can goldsmiths students survive but also flourish.
