What is the General Meeting?
The Union holds an Annual General Meeting (AGM) of its members once a calendar year. However, additional general meetings can be called if necessary. This General Meeting has been called by the Trustee Board so that students can vote on a resolution to amend GSU’s Constitution.
All members of the SU (meaning all students) are invited to these meetings, where they can debate and vote on critical issues facing the Goldsmiths’ student community.
Why Should You Attend?
-
Have your say and vote for changes that affect you: Should student trustees be appointed rather than elected in future? Should the SU have a process for selecting a new president if the current president resigns or is removed? Among other things…
-
Opportunity to speak to SU Staff members about any issues or questions you have after the meeting.
-
Free Pizza for attendees! *yummy*
Agenda:
Please find the Agenda and papers here and the updated Constitution here.
If you are unable to attend:
You may appoint a proxy (meaning another student) to vote on your behalf. All you need to do is fill out the proxy notice form and send it to our democracy email address democracy@goldsmithssu.org by midday on the day of AGM.
