Sabbatical Team Autumn Term Round Up

Wow. Autumn Term is already in the bag; time really flew by this year.

As your sabbatical team, we just wanted to share some of the awesome projects we've been diving into lately. We've been collaborating with so many incredible students to make all of our student experiences even better.

What we’ve been up to

Shada and our brilliant Disabilities officer, M, have been teaming up to push for some great changes around college for disabled students. We’ve now got automatic sliding doors at the SU Cafe, which is seriously handy! Plus, there’s a new stairlift, an accessible fire exit for wheelchair users, and even EPI pens placed in emergency zones across campus for those who need them.

Starr has kicked off the Community Kitchen! It’s this fab event where students can gather in the SU Lounge, grab a free meal, and have a good chat about things that matter to them. We’re super excited to bring it back in 2026, and fingers crossed, it’ll be even bigger and better!

Sofian’s been busy networking with other student leaders from all over the country, pushing for national campaigns that benefit all of us students. Closer to home, Sofian has been working hard alongside our student reps, making sure we work as a team to ensure we’re listening to your feedback and that it is being heard at college.

Also, we’ve set up a new digital housing board for Goldsmiths students! It’s a great space to share recommendations on the best places to live, find new flatmates, or get info on accommodation if you’re on the move. It’s a safe and welcoming zone, just for us Goldsmiths students, so you won’t be bothered by annoying ads from housing agencies. Check it out at goldsmithssu.org/housing

As a team, we’ve already responded to over 150 student enquiries this term, and we’re working hard to ensure you have the best experience possible while you’re studying here.

It's an understatement to say that the first term has been busy, and we are incredibly proud of the work we've accomplished so far this year. However, we’re just getting started, and we look forward to what the second term will bring.

For now, we are celebrating our successes and taking a much-needed winter break.
