Saturday 26th October to Saturday 9th November is London Student Volunteering Fortnight, and to kick it all off on Monday 28th October Goldsmiths Students Union’ we will be holding a Volunteering Fayre in the Great Hall from 12 to 3pm.

In partnership with the Workers in Student Community Volunteering, university students from across the capital will be coming together for 14 days of one off events. So whether you fancy heading to a secret location for a bit of guerilla gardening, cooking with the Deptford 99 Club in the New Academic Building or even making murals at the Amersham Children's Centre be sure to check it out.

New X Library needs volunteers to help with their Big Book Sale. The event is a much needed fundraiser to help keep the library up and running. The library lost all their funding from Lewisham council and was saved by the community, who now run it on a voluntary basis. The library is a vital part of our local community and this fundraiser will help them to continue serving the community.Â

Volunteering fayre 12-3pm (Great hall)
The Fair will run from 12-3pm in The Great Hall and is an opportunity for students interested in volunteering to meet with a number of different charities to find out more about their opportunities. We will have a variety of stands from local, national and international organisations. Exhibitors include The Red Cross, The Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust, The Children's Society, RNIB, St Mungo's, Volunteer Services Lewisham and London Nightline

Children's Centre Mural painting (Amersham Children's Centre)Â
Goldsmiths SU need volunteers to assist with a mural painting at a local children's centre. Come along and help brighten up an otherwise drab nursery. Lunch and travel expenses will be provided.Â

Talk to Me SE London- Cooking Class Friday 1st November
Talk to me is a project aimed at getting people in communities talking to each other. We will be running a cooking class for students and socially isolated people from the Deptford 999 club. The class will be held in the kitchen in the NAB on the afternoon of Friday 1st November. 3-5pm
