5 Places to eat in New Cross

SU Café

Serving tasty coffee, a huge range of sandwiches, paninis, salads, savoury snacks, and delicious baked goods all day, it’s a perfect central spot to catch up with friends or squeeze in some studying between lectures.

The SU café space stays open for socialising and studying until 10pm, with hot drinks available.

New Cross house

Just a skip from campus, treat yourself to New Cross House’s lunchtime special for £6.50, Monday to Friday 12pm - 3pm. If you are a Pizza lover, then definitely try out the hand-stretched Italian style pizzas with a choice of one topping you can make it as veggie, cheesy or meaty as you like! There is also a tasty beetroot and chickpea Vegan burger on the menu that even @thelittlelondonvegan would approve of.

Royal Buffet

The food at Royal Buffet has been described as PENG! by your SU president, JT. We couldn’t agree more as it says in the name Royal buffet allows you to pick and choose from salads, lasagnes and many more delicious bits.

Pick a takeaway container starting from £3.50 to a plate for £6 and fill it up to your heart's content. Royal Buffet is Halal and whether you’re a Vegan, Vegetarian or flexitarian there is something for everyone.

Yao Kee

Fancy some chips with a twist? Then try Yeo kee’s Chinese style salt and pepper chips, a personal favourite of ours at Goldsmiths SU all for £3.50!

Morley's Fried chicken

It may not be the healthiest option but you are not a true south Londoner until you have tried Morley’s Fried chicken. Known for their signature Triple M Burger, Morley’s offers combo meals for as little as £3!!! And if you’re not a meat-eater then the chips alone will not disappoint as they are highly addictive.

We hope our top five has been useful, let us know what you think or if there is anywhere we are missing, we would love to try. If there any top 5 lists you would like to see, send in your ideas to comms@goldsmithssu.org.
