Susie Dent, from Countdown’s Dictionary Corner, will shed light on our biggest swears, and why they have seen off almost every other contender for five centuries and more.

Want to know your tw*t from your sh*t, your bloody from your b*ll*cks, or your c*nt from your f*ck? They’re common swear words that we use almost every day either as insults, exclamations or even punctuation. But do you know where they came from, who said them first and why, hundreds of years later, they are still so bloody rude?

Susie Dent, from Countdown’s Dictionary Corner, will shed light on our biggest swears, and why they have seen off almost every other contender for five centuries and more. Followed by a Q&A.

Doors open at 11.30am and Susie will be on from 12-1pm.
