International Women's Day

International Women’s Day is on 8th March and we’re hosting a day of panels, discussions, workshops and more. Pop in and out as you please, come along for one event or all of them, and join us in celebrating International Women’s Day!

 

10am - 11am: Morning Brew
A chance for women students to come along, have a chat, have a hot brew and meet other students, talk about women’s experience on campus and browse the artwork on display.

11am - 12pm: Women’s Forum
Come and visit the Women’s Forum, chat to us, decorate some biscuits and find out more about International Women’s Day!

12pm - 1pm: International Women’s Day Film Workshop
In this workshop Goldreel will focus on more diverse, innovative ways to portray the female-identifying and non-binary experience on camera.

As women, how do we tell our own stories? Come to the workshop for discussion and experimentation.

1pm - 3pm: Justice for Gaia - Creative Workshop
Informative talk and creative workshop with Marienna Pope Weidemann member of the organisation Justice for Gaia as well as Gaia's cousin. Together we'll not only raise awareness on sexual assault and mental health but also turn a sad story into beautiful, expressive art. Hosted by the Me Too Society.

3pm - 4pm: Women in Politics Panel
Liberate the Debate are hosting a panel of women in politics. Campaigners, activists and academics talking about women in politics.

4pm - 5pm: Speakers’ Hour and Open Mic
We have some speakers lined up for you followed by an Open Mic where you and your fellow students have a chance to get your voices heard.


The event will be followed by our Elections Results Night and a special International Women’s Day Frothy Friday!
