Where to go for wellbeing support on and off campus

This week marks Mental Health Awareness Week, so we thought we should point you in the direction of some places on and off campus where you can find wellbeing and mental health support.

 

On Campus

College Wellbeing

The College’s Wellbeing team provide drop-in sessions Monday-Thursday 2.30-3.30pm and Friday 9.30-10.30am in the Student Centre, which you’ll find in RHB 123.

 

Students’ Union Advice for independent support

Our advice team provides confidential, non-judgemental, independent and free advice. They provide specialist support on academic issues including concerns about your university experience, formal complaints and appeals, disciplinary hearings and academic misconduct investigations.

 

Disability Service

gold.ac.uk/students/disability-support/

The University Disability Service can arrange adjustments and provide support for students who are disabled or have a Specific Learning Difficulty. Students with mental health issues can use this service.

 

The Snug

RHB Foyer

The Snug is opening in the summer term for all students who want a quiet space to relax, destress, curl up on a beanbag while grabbing some refreshments.


 

Off Campus

Bromley, Lewisham & Greenwich Mind

Bromley, Lewisham & Greenwich Mind offers support to people living with mental health issues in the boroughs of Bromley, Lewisham & Greenwich. Lewisham Peer Support is a service that allows people with experience of mental health problems to support each other through activity-based groups.

 

IAPT Lewisham Psychological Therapies Service

IAPT Lewisham Psychological Therapies Service is a free and confidential NHS service offering short-term psychological therapies to adults who are registered with a Lewisham GP. IAPT Psychological Therapies Services are offered in boroughs surrounding Lewisham as well, including Greenwich, Southwark, and Bromley. Please note that waiting times can be fairly long for these services.
