Active Bystander Training

Wed 08 May 2019 16:30-19:00 - RHB308

A 2015 NUS poll of new students found that 17% of respondents had been victims of some form of sexual harassment during their first week of term and 29% witnessed sexual harassment directed at someone else. 54% of 18 to 24-year-old female students experienced sexual harassment on nights out and 15% of male students also said they have experienced sexual harassment on a night out.

Active Bystander training sessions are your opportunity to get involved, get trained and help to create an environment of support and awareness by challenging cultures of sexual violence at Goldsmiths and in our local community.

Join us for a free, highly interactive two and a half hour session, which uses a community responsibility approach to teach bystanders how to safely intervene in instances where an incident may be occurring, or where someone may be at risk.
