The SU President is the elected leader of the Goldsmiths student body.

 

The SU President role is a paid, full-time, year-long position with Goldsmiths SU.

 

Key responsibilities:

 
  • Principal representative of all Goldsmiths students
  • Chair and member of the SU's Trustee Board
  • Represents views of Goldsmiths students to University, wider community, and nationally
 

Salary: £24,895 Term of office: 6 June 2022 - 6 June 2023

 
 

Education Officer

The Education Officer speaks for Goldsmiths students on all matters academic and educational.

 

The Education Officer role is a paid, full-time, year-long position with Goldsmiths SU.

 

Key responsibilities:

 
  • Member of College's Academic Board and other decision-making bodies related to teaching and learning
  • Gathering student feedback on the educational experience of Goldsmiths students
  • Developing the Student Representative Network

Welfare & Liberation Officer

The Welfare & Liberation Officer speaks for Goldsmiths students on all matters to do with wellbeing and liberation.

 

The Welfare & Liberation Officer role is a paid, full-time, year-long position with Goldsmiths SU.

Key responsibilities:

 
  • Supporting and leading the work of the Part-Time Officers
  • To co-chair the College Mental Health working group and attend the Sexual Harassment Advisory Board
  • Signposting students in need to the appropriate support services

Campaigns & Activities Officer

The Campaigns & Activities Officer role leads the development of student campaigns and activities within the Goldsmiths student body.

 

The Campaigns & Activities Officer role is a paid, full-time, year-long position with Goldsmiths SU.

 

Key responsibilities:

 
  • Delivering events such as Welcome Week, Varsity and Awards Night
  • Supporting the work of the Sports, Societies and Campaigns Officers
  • Ensuring the SU's spaces, campaigns and activities are safe and welcoming spaces for all Goldsmiths students

Black and Minority Ethnic Students' Officer

The Black and Minority Ethnic Students' Officer represents Black and Minority Ethnic students across Goldsmiths.

 

This role is a part-time, voluntary, year-long position with Goldsmiths SU.

 

Key responsibilities:

 
  • Supporting a community of BME students to create campaigns, events and change
  • Contribute to Black History Month planning and events
  • Highlighting issues relating to the BME experience such as the attainment gap

Disabled Students' Officer

The Disabled Students' Officer represents Disabled students across Goldsmiths.

 

This role is a part-time, voluntary, year-long position with Goldsmiths SU.

 

Key responsibilities:

 
  • Representing students with visible or invisible disabilities across campus
  • Supporting a community of Disabled students to create campaigns, events and push for policy change together
  • Contribute to Disability history and awareness events

LGBTQ+ Students’ Officer

The LGBTQ+ Students' Officer represents LGBTQ+ students across Goldsmiths.

 

This role is a part-time, voluntary, year-long position with Goldsmiths SU.

 

Key responsibilities:

 
  • Highlighting issues relevant to LGBTQ+ students such as human rights inequalities and hate crime reporting.
  • Contribute to LGBT+ History Month planning and events
  • Highlighting issues relating to the LGBTQ+ experience such as human rights inequalities and hate crime

Trans and Non-binary Students’ Officer

The Trans and Non-binary Students' Officer represents Trans and Non-binary students across Goldsmiths.

 

This role is a part-time, voluntary, year-long position with Goldsmiths SU.

 

Key responsibilities:

 
  • Supporting a community of trans and non-binary students to create campaigns, events and change
  • Contribute to LGBTQ+ History Month planning and events
  • Highlighting issues relating to the trans and non-binary experience such as recognition in law and inaccessibility of resources

Women's Officer

The Women’s Officer represents Women students across Goldsmiths.

 

This role is a part-time, voluntary, year-long position with Goldsmiths SU.

 

Key responsibilities:

 
  • Supporting a community of women to create campaigns, events and change
  • Contribute to International Women’s Day planning and events
  • Highlighting issues relating to the experience of women such as sexual violence and the gender pay gap
 

Term of office: 6 June 2022 - 6 June 2023 Eligibility: Any student who self-defines into this group

 
 

NUS Delegate (x2)

As a member of the National Union of Students, Goldsmiths SU sends delegates to the annual NUS Conference to represent Goldsmiths students on the national stage.

 

This role is a part-time, voluntary, year-long position with Goldsmiths SU.

 

Key responsibilities:

 
  • Attending NUS Conference
  • Casting votes on policy issues in line with the wishes of Goldsmiths students
  • Voting for NUS President and other roles, in line with the wishes of Goldsmiths students
 

Term of office: 6 June 2022 - 6 June 2023 Eligibility: Any student can run, however NUS sets out that half or more of the election winners must self-identify as women.

 
 

Student Trustee (x2)

As a registered charity, Goldsmiths SU is governed by a Board of Trustees - with a student majority.

 

This role is a part-time, voluntary, year-long position with Goldsmiths SU.

 

Key responsibilities:

 
  • Participating the six annual meetings of Goldsmiths SU's Board of Trustees
  • Participating in in one or more subcommittees of the Board
  • Ensuring the SU's long-term viability, strategic impact and financial health
 

Term of office: Mid June 2022 for twelve months Eligibility: Any student who is not legally barred from being a trustee of a registered charity

 
 

Union Chair

Our policies are set by Students' Forum, which is chaired by the Union Chair.

 

This role is a part-time, voluntary, year-long position with Goldsmiths SU.

 

Key responsibilities:

 
  • Chairing up to five Students' Forums each year
  • Planning the agenda and actions arising from Forum meetings
