The Goldsmiths Athletic Union (AU) is the part of Goldsmiths Students’ Union that organises and administers sports club activities. Sports are run by students, which means you are the ones who plan, organise and compete in the games.
Getting involved with Sports.
Goldsmith’s Students' Union supports, develops and administers a program of 30 sports club activities. Competitive clubs currently compete in British Universities College Sport (BUCS) and London University’s Sports League (LUSL) as well as local and national competitions. If you want to try something exciting and new, GSU also supports a range of non-competitive clubs, from Yoga to Snowboarding. Sports clubs are all student led which means you are the ones who plan, organise and compete in the games and take an active role in the development of your club and its members.
University an often be a challenging prospect. Getting involved in sports is a fantastic way to meet people, travel and stay fit while at university. All are welcome and encouraged to join, whether beginners or more experienced players.
We offer 4 types of sports memberships.
- Full membership – You can train, compete and socialise within the group.
- Social membership - You to participate in training, non-BUCS sport and the social side of the club without the pressure and commitment of competing in leagues. Social membership has a lower fee than full membership.
- Alumni Membership - You to participate in training, non-BUCS sport and the social side of the club. There are limited spaces allocated within each club
- Associate Membership - You to participate in training, non-BUCS sport and the social side of the club. There are limited spaces allocated within each club.
The SU continues to invest in your sporting activities at Goldsmiths. We have a diverse array of sports on offer, but if you find that we are not currently offering something that you would like to take part in, please get in touch with us and we will support you in starting the sports club you want to get involved with.
