Community & Friendships

  • Make new friends and build a community of connections around the university
  • Team building activities on and off campus
  • Making meaningful positive change in the university and the wider Goldsmiths community
  • Lead on large-scale events during campus-wide programmes such as Welcome (Freshers’) Week and Welcome Back Week, Black History Month, LGBTQ+ History Month, Islamophobia Awareness Month, Varsity and more

 

Skills

  • Free workshops and training year-round including our mega leaderships skills and tools handbook
  • Specialist workshops on public speaking, communicating, organising, marketing, and working with a team
  • Project and events management experience
  • Fundraising, volunteering and charity experience

 

Resources

  • Money for your events and projects through Sports Grants or the Societies & Communities Fund, funds specifically available to affiliated groups through the Students’ Union
  • Book campus spaces for your events at no cost, including the SU Café and Bar, lecture rooms, performance spaces and social spaces*
  • Online platforms including Google Suite (your own official @goldsmithssu.org email, Google Docs, Sheets, Drive and Google Meets) as well as access to book meetings and webinars on the SU’s Pro Zoom Account
  • Admin access to edit you membership page on the website where students can officially “join” your group as well as write posts for the website, add events with tickets and more
  • Support and guidance from the Development and Communities Team within the SU

 

Recognition and Validation

  • Celebrate your success at our end-of-year awards ceremony and party!
  • Special opportunities to work and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and organisations as an ambassador for the university
  • Access to our social media platforms, including instagram takeovers and free marketing for your events/projects/campaigns
