Goldsmiths Ski Trip Easter 2012

Hey Guys,


Goldsmiths Snow are taking their 2012 trip to Val Thoren this Easter!


Whether you’re a beginner, casual skiier/boarder or have been making your tracks in the snow since you were a wee baby, all are invited to what will be the best ski trip Goldsmiths has ever taken.


The trip will be leaving Goldsmiths on Saturday 24th March and returning on Saturday 31st March 2012


Price: £409 which includes:
Coach Return Travel
Ski Passes for the week
Accommodation

Holocaust Memorial Day

Today is Holocaust Memorial Day. Never forget what humankind is capable of doing to itself.

Never forget the disabled they came for first or the mental hospitals where they gassed all the patients. Never forget the Jews, the Travellers, the Jehovah’s Witnesses, Communists, LGBTQ people, Poles, Hungarians and others who were killed, the women, children, identical twins and vertically challenged people who were experimented on.

Never underestimated the power of dehumanising language because all this was done to people who were not considered “fully human” by people no different to you. Never forget.

Update from the Student Assembly

Here is a summary of the motions passed at Student Assembly on Tuesday. Remember that any student can submit motions and all students have a vote on policy as well:

1. Free Maxwell Dlamini
Maxwell is the President of the National Union of Students in Swaziland, and has faced continued imprisonment, torture and harassment for his role in the student movement by the absolute monarchy of that country. The UK National Union of Students have put a call out for solidarity and the motion passed mandates the following:

Demand the Release of Maxwell Dlamini Now!

Below is the letter Goldsmiths Students’ Union has sent to the High Commissioner of Swaziland to demand the immediate release of Maxwell Dlamini, the President of the National Union of Students in that country. He has been detained since April as part of a more general crack down on student and trade unions, in the only remaining absolute monarchy in Africa.
