The Stretch is a SAFE SPACE
Goldsmiths Students’ Union operates a Safe Space Policy whereby all staff, customers and visitors have the right to enjoy our facilities free of fear, therefore we have ZERO TOLERANCE on drugs and anti-social behavior.
Anybody who engages in such behavior will be subject to the unions Student Discipline Procedure and may be liable for a lifetime ban from GSU premises, disciplinary action from the College or police prosecution.
Irrespective of the above, in accordance with the 2003 Licensing Act, the licensee reserves the right to refuse admission or service to anybody for whatever reason.
Searches
Please note The Stretch, in accordance with good industry practice, operates a random search policy which aims to search at least 1 in 3 people. This is for the safety and security of all staff and customers, so please do not be offended if you are asked to be searched. Any customer who refuses to be searched will be refused entry.
No Readmission
During paid events The Stretch is a nightclub, so when you have paid to get in you either have to stay in or leave, you are not permitted to come and go. This is for the safety and security of everyone.
Capacity
Like all licensed venues The Stretch has an official capacity which cannot be exceeded, of which ours is 1000 people. It may be necessary to restrict access to ensure this is complied to and your safety is not compromised.
CCTV
CCTV recording is in use throughout The Stretch to ensure the safety of all staff and customers.
Strobe Lighting and Smoke Machines
The Stretch occasionally utilizes strobe lighting and smoke machines.
Noise
Although The Stretch complies with all government guidelines and legislation regarding noise exposure, free in-ear noise defenders are available if you would like them. We also request customers are as quiet as possible and be considerate of local residents when leaving The Stretch, remember SSHH! Silent Students, Happy Homes!
